When using the take payment function unless you know the customer number or they have an unusual name you can end up with multiple accounts being offered
It would be good if it could be altered so you can see outstanding balances maybe ? But it is not customisable to do this

I agree and maybe sort on balance descending so the zeros are at the bottom.
